Packing Party

Yesterday we got together at Luana's house to pack boxes for 67 of our military family and friends currently deployed. We had a great time, shared lots of laughs, and a couple bottles of wine. With donations from a Harley Group, stockings from Common Threads quilt Guild, cute jars of BBQ sauce, toiletries donated from friends, we were able to fill those boxes full.

Boat Parade

On July 2nd, Veterans and their family, 450 people total, enjoyed a ride on the Madam Carroll, leading the annual boat parade. Veterans of the Cold War were honored with certificates, medals and had their pictures taken with Congressman Todd Rokita and Monticello Mayor, Jason Thompson.

One of the many boats that honored our vets.

The USS Freeman won first place in the boat parade.

There are some great photos of the event on Monticello's website.
